I'd love to get to know you better!  Feel free to drop me a note anytime!

When the first blog of the week starts out this adorable, you know its going to be a good week, friends!!  Johnna contacted me a few weeks before her baby girl was born to schedule her newborn session!  She was referred to me by her friend, Toni, who was a very happy past client of mine!!  I am always so, so grateful for kind word of mouth from happy clients that enjoyed their experience with me!!

Johanna and I chatted for a few weeks + grew more excited as the time passed + her due date approached. We decided to do the session at Johnna’s parents house where there would be plenty of clean, natural lighting for me to work with!

I was greeted that day by Johnnas smiling face at the door and we walked in to meet her husband and Adelyn, who were snuggled together in the next room.  We talked for a little while as she showed me the accessories she hoped to incorporate and then it was it time to work!

Adelyn was such a curious little one during her session!!  From the moment that I began to shoot, her eyes were wide open and her arms were wiggling all around!  We took some natural shots of her + her sweet little features then moved on to headbands + little baby swaddles!

Her little baby toes and adorable swaddle were great, but let me tell you about what I loved even more!  One thing that I noticed and adored through my time with this new family of three was that it was so obvious Johnna and her husband, Scott, work as a team through this new season of life.  They both were there to with open arms to comfort Adelyn and help each other in every moment.

It’s such a special thing to witness when you see such pure love… not in the form of flowers or chocolates or leaning in for the romantic kiss at sunset- but instead by the honesty of a genuine helping hand.. one of showing how deeply you care for the other just by being there when needed without being asked.  Johnna and Scott were barely a week into being new parents and with tired eyes they both delivered smiles in each others directions as they interacted with their new baby girl… That is beauty and love, my friends… Not the overly flashy materialistic things of love, but the helping hands, the gentle hugs, and the smiles of utter happiness sent in each others directions kind of love.

My favorites from miss Adelyns session are below!!  Just wait until you see the family portraits at the end- oh my!! 🙂
