My wedding season started this year with Amanda + Sean’s at their Hanover Tavern wedding in Hanover, Virginia!  

I had never been to the tavern before but it was full of charm from the moment that I lid eyes on it.  I browsed the property scouting out locations for photos throughout the day.  The sun was disappearing at this point and the clouds were moving in but it was still fine compared to the rain that we had experienced earlier in the day!  

When I walked inside to meet with Amanda + her bridesmaids, I was happy to find her just as calm as could be!  Her hair + make up were beautifully done, she sat sipping a mimosa as the rest of her bridal party had their hair and make up finished.  

We chatted and hugged and after introductions, I got straight to work on a few detail shots!!  Amanda brought along china tea plates that belonged to her grandmother o be incorporated into her details shots!  I just love being able to incorporate special elements into the bridal details, especially when it ties in with the wedding theme and is special to the couple’s hearts!

As the dat carried on and finishing touches were being taken care of, Sean then came up for a visit!  After many years together, these two were comfortable not only seeing each other before the wedding, but also spending time together as the final minutes ticked away before they said their vows.  Once jewelry was placed and boutonnieres werepinned, we walked outside for a few bride and groom portraits followed by bridal party shots!

I absolutely loved being able to capture these images before hand because this meant that the couple had twice as many images as normal because we were able to shoot before the ceremony as well as after!!  This also meant that by having the bridal party shots before hand, everyone was able to get to the reception sooner!!

Their ceremony was filled with heart and stories of their faith.  The reception was soon to follow with what started as an introduction into cocktail hour at the downstairs bar, followed by a southern style dinner upstairs in the tavern within three rooms that were filled with history.  history not only of the tavern, but also of the two families that had joined as photos of their family sat on the mantels.

Dinner was followed by dancing, cake, and cocktails downstairs back at the bar.  Dancing began, cake was shared, and the rest of the night was filled with laughter and mingling!

These two were so calm and joyful the entire day + it just goes to show how confident they were in knowing that the person they were saying I Do to was the person God chose for them.

I absolutely loved working with Sean + Amanda and feel so honored to have been a part of their day.  As much as I loved working with them, the message that i received from Amanda after delivering their gallery was the icing on the cake!!

“We cant say enough good things about you!!  You’re stuck with us for clients for life!  No idea how we are going to choose favorites to print and frame!”  .. And that right there, friends… That is why I absolutely adore my clients + am always so grateful to be a part of one of the most special days of their life + know that serving my brides and grooms well brings so much more happiness to my heart than I ever could have imagined!

Congratulations Mr + Mrs. Mallory!!!!  I am so very happy for y’all and can not wait to see what the future has in hold for y’all!
