I'd love to get to know you better!  Feel free to drop me a note anytime!

This session right here is going to give you the best smile for a Monday morning!  I worked with the Myer family a year ago for a newborn session when they had just welcomed their baby girl into the world.  Well, that sweet girl is just turned one so we scheduled a session to document her first year!

Katie and I discussed a cake smash session and she was so excited about!  She spent time making this giant cupcake for Natalie’s session and had every reason to envision Natalie smashing into it resulting in a grand explosion of cake and happiness.

Natalie had a different idea!  When it came time for her cake smash, she was not feeling it at all!  There were lots of tears and sad faces and certainly no interest what so ever in the cake!  We ended up bribing her with puffs and that seemed to help a little for a few shots in which she was reserved and still very unsure about the whole thing- but, I mean lets be honest, what child doesn’t like puffs these days?!

I felt awful for Katie that she had invested so much time into this beautiful cake and Natalie became camera shy.  Katie and her husband Chris didn’t seem to mind too much and we all laughed about how silly these pictures would be and how much fun they would be to look back on when she was older and they could show her just how unexcited she was about her first birthday.

But!  There was also a surprise that we incorporated that day and Natalie was certainly in good mood about it!!  Katie had asked me through our email conversations if we could also take a few baby announcement photos for them!!  I was more than excited and of course happy to do so!!  Brad and I had not yet told anyone at the time except for our photographer that we were expecting, so I felt so honored that Katie shared their secret with me and that I was going to be able to document this time in their lives.

I am so excited for them as they welcome Myer Baby #2 into their hearts and home!  My favorites from their session are below!!!
