I’m pretty positive that no one was expecting 50 degree weather with cold winds and rain in the middle of May but hey, whats life without a few curve balls along the way?!  Either way, cold wind and rain included, Jonathan and Anjelica’s waterfront Lottsburg, Virginia wedding day was beyond amazing!

I clearly remember Anjelica and Jonathan’s engagement session.  We laughed for an hour and a half straight and then we hung out and chatted for a while after that!  It was obvious during that time that they have such a playful, genuine love for each other.  So many laughs and smiles just in those two hours with them, I knew that their wedding day would be just the same.

It was obvious from the moment that Anjelica arrived to the venue that there wasn’t a doubt in her mind about the fact that she was about to marry the man she was meant to be with.  She was so calm, so certain, and so cheerful!  

I was swooning a bit when I arrived with the gorgeous details that I had to work with that day!  Anjelica’s dress hung on the door with an extravagant lace train spread across the floor.  She handed me her jewelry which sparkled like no other, and she pulled off her comfy blush metallic flats that she would be wearing that day for me to start detail shots.  I grabbed one of the blush pink chiffon bridesmaids dresses and got straight to work!!

Soon enough, it was time for the first look with Jonathan.  The look on his face was one of pure excitement.  I had been chatting with him for a few minutes before Anjelica arrived for the first look and I swear after he saw his bride it was as if the entire days worth of excitement and emotion hit him at once!

After portraits together and with the bridal party, it was time for the ceremony!  

This was an extra exciting time for me too because my husband was second shooting with me for the first time ever!  Yall, I swear he got some really amazing shots!  I was so proud!!!!!

Their ceremony was held overlooking the water.  Their arch stood tall, covered in lush, fluffy, and completely amazing florals.  Jonathan awaited his bride at the end of the aisle before she exited the brick home, ascended down the stairs with her mom and dad on each side, and walked down to marry the man of her dreams and confetti bombs were set off as the two soon walked back down the aisle as husband and wife.

The rest of the night was full of laughter and a dance floor that was never empty!  After such a cloudy engagement session and three days worth of rain leading up to their wedding day, you can imagine my surprise when the sun popped out during golden hour with the most perfectly warm sunset lighting!!  After cloud and cold all day long, you know I just had to grab them for a few additional portraits and let me just say that the lighting did not disappoint and totally exceeded my expectations!

Anjelica and Jonathan- I cant begin to explain to you how thankful I am that you chose me to capture your wedding day.  It was seriously such an honor to be by your sides through such a joyful celebration and we wish yall more happiness and joy in the years to come than you can even imagine!!!
