I can’t even describe how happy I was for Jake and Elizabeth on their wedding day. I first chatted with these two sweet people in 2017. Elizabeth told me how she and Jake had been together for 4 years and were so ready to be married! Since then we’ve shared what I’m sure would be hundreds of emails along with two engagement sessions together and I felt so invested in their relationship and our friendship by the time their wedding day came early in October.
I first arrived at Elizabeth’s home where all of her closest girl friends and family laughed along side her preparing for the day ahead. The tears began as she stepped into her dress and all of her girls gushed over how perfect she looked as they began to button her up. Her mother finished her buttons just before we welcomed her dad in for a first look that then brought the entire room to tears as he pulled her in tight.
The sun was shining during bridesmaids portraits as they laughed together and loved on Elizabeth with the sound of the fall leaves swaying in the background. I then headed to the reception to capture detail images where white drapery hung through the ceiling and the tables were decorated each with a different variation of books, plants, and sparkles. My favorite set up was the bride and groom table where the Holy Bible sat atop various love stories- such a good reflection on the foundation of their relationship!
Before we knew it, the ceremony was about to begin. Elizabeth walked down the aisle towards Jake with such confidence flooding from her smile. He smiled back so softly and deeply as if he knew THIS was the moment they had waited for. It had been obvious from the beginning that Elizabeth and Jake have such a heart for the people most dear to them and all of those people were smiling as they witnessed these two become husband and wife with their faith as the center of their vows.
Family formals began as cocktail hour progressed outside in the October evening air. Bridal party portraits began soon after and were so much fun. I loved watching how Elizabeth and Jake’s friends interacted together because I could tell that they all just adored the new Mr and Mrs!
The sweetest first dances, heartfelt toasts, sunset portraits, a SERIOUS cake smash, and LOTS of dancing lead way to the sparkler exit that night and I can confidently say that it was just the best day for two such great people!! All of my favorites images from their celebration are below!
Elizabeth and Jake- this wedding has been a long time coming and it was just the biggest honor to be there capturing it and celebrating along side of you. You two are such sweet, kind, and relaxed friends. I have loved getting to know you two better over the years and seeing your relationship and different seasons unfold, but I really think that this sweet day was a beautiful example of whats in store for you two for the rest of forever. I am SO happy for y’all and can’t thank you enough for allowing me to be there on the celebration of your marriage! Enjoy this sneak peek until your full gallery arrives! 😉
