I have such a passion for using my photography business to serve couples and tell their love stories, but when you’re asked to photograph a newborn session for a little girl that spent the first two weeks of her life in the hospital and has finally been brought home, you absolutely say yes to the opportunity!

Steven and Carrie welcomed their sweet little girl Hallie Grace to the world on April 22nd.  Hallie was a few weeks early as she was originally due in June, but she stole her mommy and daddy’s hearts from the beginning! 

When Carrie reached out to me about a session, I was initially hesitant.  I don’t often shoot newborn sessions, so when I do I direct the images to more of a family lifestyle type of session within their home.  I don’t work with lots of blankets and baskets and buckets and wraps because those types of sessions are just not my gift.  I explained this to Carrie, prepared to send her referrals of someone that could offer those posed newborn images, but to my surprise she was ecstatic about the session the way that I described it!!!

I met at their home one afternoon and the rest was history!!  Steven and Carrie are such a sweet couple and their baby girl was such a relaxed, gentle one.  They laughed with me as they told me about their love story and the journey that they had been on through pregnancy and as new parents.  Hallie slept a majority of her session without a single cry.  We were even able to incorporate their dog Cabella in a few shots!!

I was just so honored that they asked me to document this time in their lives- especially after having such a long time in the hospital with Hallie after she was born.  I am so happy that they are all settling in to their new rolls and mom + dad with such a beautiful baby girl and I cant wait to keep up with their adventures!!  My favorites from their session are below!
