I'd love to get to know you better!  Feel free to drop me a note anytime!

Robin and Eric’s Historic Powhatan Resort wedding was such a lovely one- rain or shine!!
The day started a bit dreary so what was to be an outdoor ceremony and reception turned into indoor plans.

I arrived at the historic inn as the rain continued to fall and I walking inside to meet the bride for the very first time!! We were not able to make an engagement session happen before the wedding with all of our crazy schedules so I was anxious to meet Robin and Eric!!

The wedding party was getting ready inside of the main house which was full of so much charm!  the rain plan was to actually have the wedding in there as well!!  As the day progressed, the details were shot, and the bridal party finished with hair and make up, the rain began to subside.  After a few considerations and one big decision later- the couple decided to have the wedding outdoors and brave whatever the weather may have in store for them!

Once it was time for the ceremony, everyone stood to to witness the couples vows.  The groom took his place under the greenery filled lattice and the bride proceeded down the historic brick pathway.  As everyone took their places at the end of the aisle, the ceremony began and a surprise was was announced.  Robin + Eric were actually already married!!!!  they had secretly tied the knot prior to their wedding but still wanted to include their families and friends in the celebration so they had moved forward with that days plans!

What a shocker for everyone there but what a joyful moment to finally announce their secret!!  The rest of their ceremony in which they exchanged vows again, this time in front of the ones closest to their hearts, was beautiful even if the weather had turned into a heavy damp mist.

The remainder of the wedding day was as joyful as ever.  The rain held off just long enough for us to capture portraits outdoors in natural lighting and then we headed to the reception location inside of the restaurant on the grounds.  the rest of the night was full of cocktails, dancing,  laughter, champagne jello shooters, and so many hugs for the bride and groom.  The night ended with my first sparkler exit and the couple was left to continue their forever together hand in hand.

Congratulations Mr and Mrs mierjewski!  It was an honor to be a part of your wedding day!
