A few weeks ago I photographed Hillary and Derek’s wedding and if you missed it, you can view it here! Now that the wedding day has come and gone, I am so excited to share Hillary’s bridal portraits with you!!! Hillary is absolutely stunning!!! I remember walking in that day for her session and being completely blown away! I repeatedly told her how gorgeous she looked and she responded with a smile and that perfect sense of humor to ask if I told all my brides that!
Hillary and Derek’s beautiful hometown church ceremony and creek side reception was my third and final wedding for May and it was the perfect end to a busy month in wedding season before it starts again at the end of June!
Hillary and Derek have been on my calendar for a year and a half! We photographed their engagement session last summer in June and I couldn’t wait to get them in front of the camera again!!
A few years ago, I photographed Toni and David at sunrise on a beach. Those photos, while very different from my current work, are still some of my favorite sun kissed images. Then last year David asked Toni to marry him and I was beyond honored when they reached out to me about being their wedding photographer.
A few months after that we had their engagement session on her family land and those images were added to the favorites folder as well. This past weekend they were married at the Roanoke Island Aquarium in North Carolina and it would only be fate that these are some of my favorite images too!
You know that feeling when you show up to a good friends wedding?? The kind where you’re so incredibly excited that your friends are about to be married that you can hardly contain your joy and your day is full of laughter??
Well that was the case at Friday’s wedding at Rock Hill Plantation in Stafford, Virginia. The only difference is that these aren’t lifelong friends. This was actually the only other time that I had seen Courtney and Billy aside from their engagement session, but these two certainly felt like old friends from the very beginning.
Yall, I will be the first to admit that this blog should have been shared MONTHS ago!!!
Its been an entire year since this styled shoot. I first held off on sharing it because it was being featured on the United With Love blog. Then I held off on sharing it because I wanted to make sure that it was perfect! Then busy season happened, then we had a baby, and now I am realizing that perfection is a myth and I am way overdue for sharing this!!!
This is such a bitter sweet blog for me to write and it was such a bitter sweet day for me because Hannah and Tristan’s beautiful Hull Spring’s farm wedding was my very last wedding of 2016! At 7 months regnant, I didn’t feel comfortable booking any weddings closer to my due date but this wedding was certainly a great one to finish the season with because it was so gorgeous!
I first met Hannah one year ago when we met for drinks at a local restaurant to talk about wedding photography. She was still on the hunt for a photographer for their August wedding and I was so excited when they reached back out to me and were ready to official book!
Last week I shared tiffany and Kevin’s engagement session and today seemed like the perfect follow up to share their wedding images!!!
I just adored working with these two! Their waterfront wedding day started ff a bit dreary and windy, but soon after the ceremony we were graced with sunshine and a gorgeous rest of the day
Friday I blogged Ann Kramer and Corey’s gorgeous Tappahannock, Virginia wedding so today I thought it would be a great follow up to post the images from her bridal session!!!
We shot these just a few weeks before their wedding day at her parent’s home one afternoon and I was so happy with how they turned out!! It wasn’t too warm, we had great lighting, a light breeze, while her sister and mother kept us great company and helped so much with her dress and keeping it in perfect condition through the session!!
Ann Kramer and Corey were one of my amazing 2016 wedding couples and their day was nothing short of amazing in every way!! I had enjoyed my time with them SO much during their engagement session and Ann Kramer was so sweet every time that we spoke before the wedding. She was always the first to reach out to me with excitement over the experience she was having with me and that just got me even more excited to continue working with her!!
Ann Kramer and Corey planned a wedding ceremony at St Johns in Tappahannock, Virginia with a reception to follow at St Margarets School right on the beautiful Rappahannnock River! It was the middle of June and the heat index that day sure was maximized!! Despite the heat, it still was a gorgeous day!!

I’m a few days later in sharing this blog post than I originally hoped, but thats because I wanted to make certain that I wasn’t rushing this blog and that Lindsay and Paul’s wedding day was displayed in a way that would truly embody the happiness that was shared.
As I sit here this morning drinking my coffee and thinking back to their special day, I’m remembering how perfectly in tune their wedding day was with their personalities. It was evident during their engagement session that Lindsay and Paul aren’t flashy people… It was evident that they find joy in simply being together. It was also evident that a simple smile in the others direction could light up their faces like never before. Thats what I loved so much about their sunflower themed back yard wedding. It was simple and so very much true to their love.
