Sometimes, a really nice person reaches out to you about photographing her wedding + sometimes that really nice person just happens to use as many exclamation marks in her emails as I do + that not only got me super excited, but it was just one of the reasons that I we were going to be a perfect match!!

Sounds silly, I know!!  But I just knew from the beginning that Ann Kramer was a perfect fit to be a bride of AHP + I couldn’t wait to welcome her and her fiancé Corey as one of my wedding couples for the 2016 season!!

One of the first things I love to do when I begin speaking with a potential wedding client is get to know them!  I love how each couple shares something different about each other + their love story.  Some brides are more intimate + heart warming in their stories, some more playful + full of laughter… Ann Kramer’s was something a little different than I had heard in a while.

When she spoke of Corey, she spoke with such a grateful heart.  She spoke as if in meeting Corey, he had eased a void in her life that she never expected to be fulfilled.  Her words were so kind as she grazed through their love story with me.  “It just felt right” and “it really was the happiest day of my life” were just a few of the heart warming lines that I read that day + I immediately fell in love with them before I had even met them!!  Not to mention that she even took a moment to speak about how much she loved the members of their bridal party!!  Ah, so kind hearted!!

When the day of their engagement session arrived, it was very dark + cloudy so I of course felt terrible that I would not be able to offer bright, sunlit images in their gallery.  That did not stop these two though!!  Despite the gray skies, they were more than happy to move forward with their session!  We met at her parents’ Rappahannock River waterfront home in Tappahannock.  I was familiar with the location as one of my 2015 couples had been married in the same neighborhood!!  

That day was my first time meeting Ann Kramer and Corey, but I immediately felt like I was meeting with old friends!  These two were so natural as they interacted with each other in front of the camera, as well as the in between moments when we were not shooting.  I loved chatting + laughing with them as we shared stories + I got to know them better.  I especially loved their engagement story + the unexpected twist of how Corey proposed to Ann Kramer on his birthday!!  

Our time spent together that day got me even more excited for their summer wedding!!  They will be married in late July right in the heart of downtown Tappahannock!!  The couple have planned for the ceremony to be at a church originally built in the 1850’s with the reception to be at the gorgeous waterfront St Margaret’s School property!  If their wedding day is as relaxed + fun as their engagement session was, I can only imagine how perfect their wedding day will be!!
