I absolutely love photographing the wedding day of my couple’s dreams and this one was so different from any wedding I have photographed up to that point! Richard and Polly were married at the Nation Museum of the Marine Corps in Triangle, Virginia. Polly actually lives in Wyoming and had been planning her Virginia wedding from out of state. She was referred to me by another wedding vendor and I am so happy that we were connected, not to mention that I love working with vendors that have become friends!!
The day started in Polly’s hotel room with her daughters and grandson surrounding her with love before the excitement of the day ahead. Once I arrived at the museum, I made my way to chapel in which they would say their vows which was built tall with stone and glass walls, surrounded by lovely landscaping and overlooking the tall arch of the museum where the reception was later held.
The ceremony decor included beautiful linens topped with tall thin centerpieces with an abundance of florals at the time. Cocktail hour was first, followed by the serving of dinner, and then the band began to play. This was certainly one of the most dancing crowds that I have witnessed at a reception! From the moment dinner ended, the guests were to their feet dancing along with the sound of the band. As if they day wasn’t already joyful enough, this sure added an extra element of fun as the dance floor was full from start to finish!
Polly and Richard were surrounded by their children and some of their closest friends and family from around the country. There were so many hugs, so many laughs, and the celebration was one that I know they will cherish for life! The night ended with a sparkler exit as the bride and groom made their way to their get away car and embarked on the start of their forever as husband and wife.
Thank you so much to the happy couple for allowing me to be a part of your wedding day! I was absolutely honored and wish you and your family so much happiness in the year ahead!
